Bringing Rockfield Terraces to Life Through Architectural Visualisation
⏱ 3 min readSelling a Vision Before It Exists
Rockfield Terraces approached ManageMe with a challenge many property developers face: how do you convince buyers to invest in homes that exist only on paper?
The State Avenue development in Onehunga offered eight architecturally designed, two-storey townhouses located just 10 kilometres from Auckland CBD. While the location and design were appealing, buyers were only provided with technical drawings and floor plans, which made it difficult to picture the homes in real life.
Although the plans were accurate, they did not show how much natural light the living areas would receive, what the finishes would look like, or how the homes would fit into the existing Onehunga neighbourhood. As a result, both first-time buyers and investors struggled to understand what living in these townhouses would actually be like.
To support off-plan sales, the development team needed clear, realistic visualisations rather than drawings alone. These visuals needed to show how the homes would look and feel, answer common buyer questions, and help people feel confident that the property was a smart place to live and invest.
The Solution
A Strategic Approach to Visualisation
ManageMe began with a deep understanding of the project.
- Studied the State Avenue site, including orientation, surroundings, and daily light movement
- Analysed how natural light would interact with the buildings at different times
- Reviewed architectural plans in detail
- Identified key selling points such as natural light, modern design, and spacious living
- Created exterior hero renders to show street presence and architectural character
- Selected camera angles that highlighted clean lines and contemporary materials
- Made sure the homes felt welcoming and liveable, not cold or institutional
- Tested multiple lighting scenarios across the day
- Choose late afternoon light to add warmth and realism
- Took a careful and detailed approach to material selection
- Worked closely with the development team to match all specified finishes
- Ensured cladding textures, window finishes, and surfaces were accurate
- Focused on honest and realistic visuals to help buyers understand exactly what they were purchasing
